About Us - WHWB Australia
Introduction
Workplace Health Without Borders – Australia (WHWB-AUS) was incorporated as a business in December 2018 and became a charity in September 2021.
We are inviting people to join our organisation and lend their expertise, enthusiasm and time to fundraising and developing projects to help prevent occupational illness. Anyone studying, working or interested in occupational health, safety and hygiene is welcome to join. Please note, there is a small annual membership fee of $30 AUD.

Board Members
President- – Jason Green
Jason Green has over 33 years’ experience in the health, safety and environmental fields in a variety of industries including construction, property, industrial, utilities, health, mining, education and consulting. He specialises in: Occupational Hygiene, Hazardous Substances and Building Materials, Environmental Science, Indoor Air Quality, Large-scale/Multi site Project Management and Supervision. Jason is a Certified Occupational Hygienist (COH)® and Full Member of the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygiene (AIOH). Jason is Certified Water Damage Restoration Technician with the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) he in an Indoor Environmental Practitioner (IEP) and he holds a master’s degree in Occupational Hygiene Practice (OHP).
Secretary – Elaine Lindars
Elaine is a Director and co-founder of the RED OHMS Group, a HSE consultancy. She has more than 35 yrs’ experience in occupational, environmental & analytical chemistry with a Ph.D. in geochemistry, a postgraduate in industrial hygiene, and a BSc (Hons.) in environmental chemistry. She is a Certified Occupational Hygienist (COH)® and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists, a Charted Chemist with the Royal Australian Chemical Institute (MRACI CChem) and a Certified OHS Practitioner with the Australian Institute of Health and Safety (COHSPrac).
Elaine is also an an adjunct Professor at Edith Cowan University, and has been teaching for more than 20 years.
Elaine founded WHWB Australia in 2018 and was its 1st President from 2018 to 2020 and has been the Secretary from 2021.
Treasurer – Zach Bentley
Zach is a Certified Occupational Hygienist (COH)® currently working in the energy sector. With over 15 years of experience in occupational health and hygiene, Zach has worked across mining, construction, and oil and gas—spending much of this time as a consultant. He is passionate about delivering risk-based, practical solutions that make a meaningful impact on protecting worker health. Zach firmly believes that sound occupational hygiene advice should not be limited to companies or industries with significant resources; it should be accessible to all.
Zach holds a Master’s degree in Occupational Hygiene and Toxicology, a postgraduate certificate in Safety and Risk Management, and a Bachelor of Health Science.
Zach has been Treasurer since December 2025.
Past President – Lydia Richards
Lydia has a strong interest in furthering WHS support in the Pacific Nations. In 2020 Lydia worked with the Samoan Ministry of Labour to create guidelines on major hazards to support both the inspectorate and employers appreciate these hazards and suitable controls. More recently being involved an Australian Volunteers International project to Fiji in a broader Human Resources mentoring role. Lydia is a WHS generalist with significant experience in legal aspects of WHS (including Pacific legislation) and safety management systems.
General Member – Marcus Brooks
Marcus is a Certified Occupational Hygienist (COH), a full member of the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists (MAIOH) with over 20 years’ experience working in the mining industry and 4 years consulting for Defence, Public Service, Commonwealth, Construction and Healthcare. He has recently served on the AIOH council as a General member for two years. He applies a holistic approach to worker health which has been influenced by his health safety and emergency service background.
fromGeneral Member – Andrew Gaggiano
Andrew is a Certified Occupational Hygienist (COH) and an experienced safety professional, with over twenty-five years’ experience working within the mining, consulting and government sectors.
General Member – Gavin Roberts
Gavin is an Occupational Hygienist and full member of the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists. He is Principal Advisor (Occupational Health and Hygiene) with the Occupational Health, Hygiene and Asbestos Unit of Workplace Health and Safety Queensland with over 20 years of experience with the health and safety regulator in Queensland.
Gavin’s professional experience spreads across a vast range of industries from Agriculture to construction and manufacturing. His interest in the health of workers globally comes from extensive experience working with international workers in the horticulture industry in Queensland.
