2025 Winner, Boki Pal
I recently completed the M200 Basic Principles of Hygiene course and found it to be very beneficial to myself as someone that is new to the occupational hygiene space. The course gave a great overview of what occupational hygiene is and why it’s important along with the hazards to be aware of. Also, a big thanks to Jason Green and Julie Sullivan who ran the course and did a fantastic job teaching!

2023 – Chandee Ramkisson
Hi my name is Chandee and I am a researcher at the University of Adelaide. My research focuses primarily on the exposure monitoring for crystalline silica in the manufacturing industries. Earlier in the year I did the Basic Principles of Occupational Hygiene course because I wanted to build a foundation in this discipline since I was relatively new to it. The course was a fantastic opportunity understand the core principles of occupational hygiene and it was delivered in a very engaging manner. In particular I enjoyed all the workshops done at the end of every day where we were presented with real life exposure scenarios and asked to think about health and safety in the workplace. I have already integrated the learnings from this course into my current research programme so I highly recommend this course to anyone looking to build a foundation in occupational hygiene in particular I would also like to thank Workplace Health Without Borders Australia for giving me the opportunity to do this fantastic course, thank you.
2022 – Teneille Koenig
After attending the RED OHMS Group Basic Principles in Occupational Hygiene course, I have already started to put into practice some of the learnings from the course. As a health and safety professional, I concede that often the health aspect of “health and safety” is often not given the same consideration and focus as Safety. The Basic Principles of Hygiene course, emphasised and confirmed the requirement for Occupational Hygiene as a specialised field. The topics covered while extensive, gave a great overview in a logical sequence. I had many ‘ah ha’ moments throughout the course where experiences I’ve had in the field were validated and essentially completed the health and safety cycle. I would highly recommend all health and safety professionals who do not have occupational hygiene qualifications, training, or work experience to complete this well-presented and intentionally designed course.
Dr Elaine Lindars and Simon Sharp’s extensive wealth of experience and technical knowledge were the drivers for the successful delivery and facilitation of this course. Easily relating the content back to real life situations in the field and taking questions relevant to participants current work environments made the material easy to understand and applicable to field use. Elaine is a fantastic educator who reads her learning audience and caters to the various levels of experience and understanding, and paces the presentation to suit all learners.
This course is a great introduction to occupational hygiene and I am astounded at how much I learned in a short period of time.
I’d like to thank Workplace Health Without Boarders for the opportunity to attend and the RED OHMS Group for providing a fantastic course and facilities as the host.
