Accessing Heat Stress
As the planet heats up, workers across farming, construction, mining, manufacturing, transport, tourism and sport face growing heat risks. This webinar unpacks what that means for health, safety and productivity, using clear examples throughout. You’ll learn the difference between heat stress (the combined load from environment, workload and clothing) and heat strain (the body’s response), along with related illnesses and vulnerability factors. We cover a practical three-step assessment approach, from simple observations to advanced heat-strain models, and weigh up common heat indices like WBGT, TWL and PHS. A real workplace scenario ties it together, plus practical guidance on hydration, acclimatisation and controls.
